Over a quarter of a billion euro was allocated to 3,048 community sports clubs and facilities in 2024 from the 2023 round of the Community Sport Facilities Fund (CSFF), formerly the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme, representing the largest-ever investment in sports facilities in communities across Ireland.
In line with previous rounds of the programme, a review of the current funding round will be undertaken and that review will inform the timing of the next round of the Community Sport Facilities Fund. However, I would anticipate that the next round should be announced in 2026.

Sport Ireland, which is funded by my Department, is the statutory body with responsibility for the development of sport, increasing participation at all levels and raising standards, including the allocation of funding across its various programmes. Sport Ireland does not provide direct funding for clubs or individuals but channels the funding through its network of Local Sports Partnerships (LSPs), recognised National Governing Bodies for Sport (NGBs), and other relevant sporting organisations. Clubs should contact their NGB and/or LSP directly to ascertain what financial supports are available.
