I am informed by the Garda authorities that there are Garda dog kennels in a number of locations across the country and projects to upgrade or install new facilities, in collaboration with the Office of Public Works (OPW), are ongoing. These are in addition to the normal maintenance and upkeep of existing facilities. Key recent upgrades include:
Kilmainham
- 2022 - New dog agility area
- 2020 - Upgrade to dog wash area
- 2019 - Groundworks and new kennels installed
- 2018 - New kennel facilities at new Regional HQ
- 2022 - Relocation of Regional Dog Unit, including new kennels
