193. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will report on the weight restriction that applies to traffic using the current 18th century Reilly's Bridge on the Royal Canal at Cabra, Dublin; the load-bearing capacity of the replacement bridge, which is now in place and which will be opened to traffic in the spring of 2015; if a weight restriction will apply to the new bridge, upon its being opened to vehicular traffic; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport.  The development and implementation of public transport projects in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA), such as the upgrade at Reilly's Level Crossing, is a function of the National Transport Authority (NTA).

Noting this I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within 10 working days.

The issue raised is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply.

Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
