Allocations under my Department's Social Housing Investment Programme for 2012 were notified to local authorities last week. Under the programme, funding is provided for a range of measures to improve the standard and overall quality of the local authority housing stock. The allocation notified to Galway City Council included funding of €238,800 for the retrofitting of older social housing stock and €70,814 for the provision of necessary adaptations or extensions to meet the needs of tenants with a disability.
