The deployment of Garda resources, including the Garda Air Support Unit, is a matter for the Garda Commissioner in the context of his identified policing requirements. I am advised by the Garda authorities that the operation of the Air Support Unit is kept under on-going review to ensure that Garda resources are deployed in the most effective manner. This is a process which will be maintained in keeping with the overall Garda objective to provide the best possible policing service to the public.
