I understand that the individual referred to by the Deputy has applied for a draft net licence. Applications for draft net fishing licences will be considered by Inland Fisheries Ireland in accordance with the terms of the Control of Fishing for Salmon Order 2011 (S.I. No. 123 of 2011). This Order determines the priority status afforded to each application based on the applicant's fishing track record. In the event of the number of applicants being in excess of the number of licences available Inland Fisheries Ireland will determine the allocation in accordance with Article 10 of the Order.
