It is the aim of the Department of Defence to be fully tax-compliant and to meet all of its obligations under tax law. A revenue audit of the Department was conducted by the Revenue Commissioners in 2007. Apart from one issue relating to the status of an allowance payable to certain members of the PDF, the Revenue Commissioners informed the Department that the audit was satisfactory in all other respects. No other revenue audit of the Department was conducted in the years in question.
