Question 240: To ask the Minister for Defence the amount of funding received from the national lottery in each of the years 2007, 2008 and 2009; if he will give details of the programmes, services and capital developments for which this funding was used, quoting the amount so used in each case and whether the lottery funding fully or partially funded the programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Coiste an Asgard is part-funded by the National Lottery. The amount received for each of the years in question is outlined in the following table:

2007 | â'¬879,000 |
2008 | â'¬803,000 |
2009 | â'¬800,000 |
The above amounts partially funded the annual operation of the National Sail Training Scheme. The balance of the annual costs were met by income from cruise fees. There were no capital costs involved.
