A statutory assessment of housing need is carried out by housing authorities triennially. The most recent of these took place in 2005 with previous assessments undertaken in 2002, 1999 and 1996. Data in relation to these assessments is available on my Department's website at www.environ.ie. The next statutory assessment of housing need is due to be undertaken by housing authorities in March 2008.
