EU Directives: Referral to Joint Committee

I move:

That the proposal that Seanad Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to accept the following measure:Directive 2013/33/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 June 2013 laying down standards for the reception of applicants for international protection (recast),a copy of which was laid before Seanad Éireann on 22 November 2017, be referred to the Joint Committee on Justice and Equality, in accordance with Standing Order 71(3)(k), which, not later than 23 January, 2018, shall send a message to the Seanad in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 75, and Standing Order 77(2) shall accordingly apply.

I understand there is a vote in the Dáil. While it is not for me to suggest it, perhaps a short suspension is appropriate.
