I have received notice from Senator Diarmuid Wilson that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to advise on the current position on the urgent need for a new school building at Laragh national school, Stradone, County Cavan; and to outline when it is proposed to begin this project and the current status of the application for this school.

I have also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline the specific difficulties and solutions for acquiring a site for Monreagh national school, Carrigans, County Donegal, given the school was sanctioned in 2001 and that, four sites later, the school has not progressed.

I have also received notice from Senator Shane Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to exert maximum influence to ensure the final round of the Zimbabwean presidential elections is free and fair.

I have also received notice from Senator Paschal Donohoe of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to provide an update on plans to provide quality bus corridors in the Phoenix Park and other plans for the park environment.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Wilson, Keaveney and Ross and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Donohoe may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
