As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport, however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
My Department maintains regular communication with the state-owned transport companies, however the aspects raised by the Deputy in relation to service and contingency planning are operational matters for Irish Rail. Therefore, I have referred the Deputy's questions to the company for direct response. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
