To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade if he or his officials have read a report titled "Peak Ireland Ireland’s Diplomatic Challenges and the Lessons for the UK" which was recently published by the Policy Exchange think-tank; and if he has given consideration to the specific criticisms which this report makes of Irish foreign policy under the current Government; and his response to those criticisms. I am aware of the report published by the British think tank Policy Exchange on Ireland's political and economic relationship with the United States.

This Government has invested heavily in the relationship and is ambitious for its future. This is reflected in our political engagement, outreach to the US-based diaspora, investment in a new embassy building at the heart of Washington DC, and longstanding work to grow our economic relationship, to the benefit of both countries.

This ambition will be renewed in a new strategy for Ireland’s engagement with the United States which my Department is preparing and which I will publish in the new year.

As you will be aware, Ireland has regular and constructive dialogue with the US administration, as well as with Congressional and State level political leaders on a wide range of issues.
