To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality to provide a list of divisions in immigration service delivery; the applications assessed under each division; the resources in terms of full-time equivalent staff assigned to each division; and the number of applications processed under each category of application listed for the years 2023, 2024 and to date 2025, in tabular form. I understand the Deputy has been in contact with officials in my Department and it has been agreed that information would be provided in relation to the Visa division, Registration Office, Citizenship division, Repatriation division and the Domestic Residence and Permissions (DRP) division of my Department.

Table 1 below sets out the number of full-time equivalent (FTE) staff assigned to the specified divisions of Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) for 2025 (to the end of September).

Staffing levels are kept under ongoing review having regard to demands placed on my Department’s ISD function generally.

Table 2 details the number of applications received and decisions issued for Visa division, Citizenship division and DRP division for 2023, 2024, and 2025 (to the end of September).

**Figures include visas across all categories of Type C (short stay) and Type D (long stay)

*** During 2023 DRP division were responsible for processing applications for the Regularisation of Long-Term Undocumented Migrants scheme. During 2023 and 2024, Labour Market Access (LMA) applications were also handled by DRP, before it transferred to the International Protection Office in March 2024.

Table 3 details the total number of first-time Immigration permissions successfully registered for 2023 and 2024, along with the total number of successful renewals of Immigration permissions, in 2023 and 2024. Data for 2025 is not yet available.
