In support of a commitment in the Programme for Government, my Department continues to aid the development of a more vibrant and culturally diverse Night-Time Economy. We have made significant progress to date by working in partnership with our Night-Time Advisors, Government, local government colleague and key agencies. The ongoing development of the Night-Time requires a whole of Government response and these partnerships are key to the success of development of our Night-Time Economy.
I am currently finalising the allocations for B6. However, I have recently announced that I will be allocating €1 million in funding from B6, for the Night-Time Economy, to support a second expanded iteration of the Grassroots Music Venue Support Scheme. This will continue to support the viability of independent, live music venues across the country which are so important in generating vibrancy and cultural diversity in our night-time economy.
My Department is currently preparing a plan on how it intends to prioritise the allocations under B6, in order to achieve our key strategic objectives, which I will consider in due course.
