The Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO) provides an independent, impartial, fair, confidential and free service to consumers of financial services to help resolve complaints.

Due to their independence, as Minister of Finance, I am not involved in the complaints handling operations of the FSPO and cannot comment on individual complaints.

It should be noted that, in order to help resolve complaints more promptly, an increase of over 40% in FSPO staff numbers (from 90 to 128) was sanctioned in December 2023.

Members of the Oireachtas seeking information relating to the FSPO can do so through a dedicated email address - oireachtas@fspo.ie - in accordance with Circular 25/2016.
