My Department continues to take advice from the National Cyber Security Centre in respect of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and are following recommendations provided in June 2023.

All applications used within the Department are required to be in line with Departmental policies and procedures. My Department does not use AI to conduct its systems or operations.

The Department does not have projects, contracts, or pilots currently being undertaken or in development that make use of agentic AI.

As part of any future use of AI, the Department will be aligned to the Guidelines for the Responsible Use of AI in the Public Service, published by the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation in 2025.
