Between 2023 and 2025, there has been an 8% increase in funding allocated under the Local Youth Club Grant Scheme (LYCGS), reflecting the Department’s continued commitment to supporting youth engagement at the community level.
The LYCGS supports volunteer-led youth clubs and groups by providing grant aid towards their operational costs. Administered locally by the sixteen Education and Training Boards (ETBs), the primary focus of the scheme is to assist local volunteer-led youth clubs/groups that provide a programme of youth work activities for young people. In addition, other clubs/groups that work with young people, but are not specifically providing youth work, are also eligible to apply for funding under the scheme.
2023 Allocation | 2024 Allocation | 2025 Allocation | |
---|---|---|---|
Local Youth Club Grant Scheme | €2,500,000 | €2,500,000 | €2,700,000 |
