I propose to take Questions Nos. 1447 to 1456, inclusive, together.
The Community Centre Investment Fund (CCIF) has provided approximately €110 million since 2022 for the enhancement and refurbishment of existing community centres and the construction of new centres.
Twelve new build community centres were approved funding of €30.2 million under CCIF in 2024.
The attached table provides details in respect of the 10 new build projects requested by the Deputy. It should be noted that all projects were initially approved on 20 April 2024. It was a condition of the application process that full planning permission was in place. The contract award date refers to the contract for the construction of the building.
The projects are at various stages of development as can be seen from the attached table. Given the scale of these projects, they must go through a number of decision gate approval stages before the final funding levels are confirmed. As can be seen from the table, two of the projects are at construction stage and their funding level has been confirmed. The first funding drawdown requests for these projects are currently being reviewed by my officials. I expect to see substantial progress in respect of the other projects in the coming months.
