To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government if an assessment has been or is being carried out on the modern methods of construction used at a housing project at Grange Drive, Dundalk, county Louth; if there are plans for further use of this technology in similar schemes in the future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Building Regulations set the legal requirements to provide for the health, safety and welfare of people in and around buildings. My Department has no function in assessing whether any particular proposal, or any completed works, complies with the Building Regulations. The National Standards Authority of Ireland, NSAI Agrément, facilitates the assessment and certification of innovative products and processes.
