I propose to take Questions Nos. 2739 and 2740 together.
My Department works in collaboration with Higher Education Institutions and Education and Training Boards, through the Higher Education Authority and SOLAS, on the development of capital projects in line with their established masterplans and Departmental and Government priorities.
Capital funding programmes within my Department are allocated to support capital development in higher education, further education and training, and research. These programmes are available to eligible institutions only. Capital funding within my Department is not voted for the purpose of supporting external bodies such as community organisations or sporting organisations. Funding the capital development needs of such bodies falls outside the remit of my Department, and no capital programmes or grants are currently open to external organisations.
