1506. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality whether An Garda Síochána or other State intelligence are actively monitoring online activity by far-right organisations where that activity is linked to potential hate crimes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [45076/25]

The manifestation of online disinformation and incitement of violent action in the physical world is of particular concern to my Department and An Garda Síochána. Part of the Garda Síochána response to such incidents is to investigate the role of relevant online activity.
The Garda Commissioner determines appropriate operational policing strategies and An Garda Síochána monitors activity and engages with social media companies, including seeking the removal of harmful material.
An Garda Síochána has indicated that it is aware of the activities of extreme groupings online. An Garda Síochána will strive to take advantage of technological advancements and international best practice to ensure that the capacity and capability exists to counter the modern day threats faced by Ireland.
This will enhance, preserve, protect and strengthen the ability of An Garda Síochána to deliver upon its mission. An Garda Síochána will continue to pursue all avenues to combat the activities of individuals and organisations that pose a threat to the security of the State and the safety of our communities.
Additionally, the Online Services and Media Regulation Act, which is the responsibility of the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport has been introduced. Coimisiún na Meán has been established and empowered to regulate online media, including enforcing rules about how online services or platforms should deal with harmful and illegal content on their services. Earlier this year my colleague, Minister O'Donovan, published the National Counter Disinformation Strategy.
