I can advise the Deputy that since May 2024, spouses and partners of General Employment Permit and Intra-Corporate Transferee Irish Employment Permit holders are now registered on a Stamp 1G permission, rather than a Stamp 3. This allows the holder to take up employment without the need for an Employment Permit.
Stamp 3 permission is now granted to dependent children of Employment Permit holders, people in the state as Ministers of Religion and volunteers working with charitable organisations.
It is open to Stamp 3 holders to apply for an Employment Permit in their own right if they wish to work in Ireland.
