To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government to provide a list of all unused properties, lands and buildings, under the ownership or control of his Department within County Kerry; the length of time they have been idle; the plans in place, if any, for future use; if these unused properties, lands and buildings can be used for affordable and social housing and low cost sites; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Heritage Division of my Department has properties and land held in connection with the National Parks & Wildlife Service’s functions around nature conservation and the management of the National Parks and Reserves network.
All lands owned by the Minister and managed by the NPWS are in use for nature conservation purposes or as part of the National Parks and Reserves network.
A number of the properties are vacant as detailed below. Any future use of these buildings would be considered in the context of nature conservation, as resources allow.
