To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade to provide the total number of grant payments issued by the Department in each of the past five years, along with the total value of those grant payments for each year, in tabular form; and to confirm whether these figures include all schemes and discretionary grant programmes administered directly by the Department or through its agencies. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is responsible for two Votes - Vote 27 (International Cooperation) and Vote 28 (Foreign Affairs and Trade). There are no agencies under the aegis of the Department.

Grant payments are administered from programme budgets, with a significant level of grant aid being issued via the Irish Aid programme. The Department also supports Irish communities globally with the Emigrant Support Programme, promotes reconciliation and north-south cooperation with the Reconciliation Fund, the Shared Island Fund and administers other targeted grant schemes.

Below is the requested detail of all grant schemes and programmes in each of the past five years:
