Maritime safety policy is a responsibility of the Minister for Transport, Darragh O’Brien TD. I am informed that that Department is not considering funding for civil society organisations involved in navigational safety, through the Shared Island Fund or otherwise, and engagement with such groups is a matter for relevant ports and local authorities in the first instance.

The Shared Island Civic Society Fund of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade promotes practical North-South cooperation and engagement through increased cross-border civil society connections, and a call for applications is open at present, closing on 27 June.
