402. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the reason a person in County Kerry (details supplied) who is caring for their elderly parents and in receipt of the carer’s support grant for the past five years has to reapply in respect of their father; if the requirement to reapply will be reviewed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Following a review, I can confirm that the person concerned has been awarded the 2025 Carer's Support Grant in respect of their father. The payment of €2,000 will issue to the person's nominated bank account shortly. Notification of this decision issued to the person concerned on 9 June 2025.
I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
