Fuel Allowance is a means tested payment to help with the cost of heating a home during the winter months, payable to people who either live alone or only with certain other qualified people.
To date, my Department has not received an application for Fuel Allowance from the person concerned.
It is open to the person to apply for Fuel Allowance by completing a NFS1 application form. An application form has been forwarded by post to the address of the person concerned.
The completed application should be returned to: Fuel Allowance, Carer's Allowance Section, Ballinalee Road, Longford, Co Longford, N39 E4E0. A return envelope has been included for convenience.
The person concerned may alternatively apply online on mywelfare.ie but will need a verified MyGovID account to do so.
I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
