I propose to take Questions Nos. 274 and 279 together.
Under the 2025 Energy Efficiency Retrofitting Programme, my Department will fund costs of up to €48,850 plus project management fees, on individual local authority homes. The actual cost of retrofitting works on each home will depend on its pre-works BER. The programme calls for local authorities to retrofit a variety of house types, from those requiring major work to achieve a B2 BER rating, to those requiring minimal intervention. The targets and funding allocated take account of this. Local authorities are asked to ensure that the average cost drawn down per home under the programme is circa €36,500, including project management fees. Adhering to this average will ensure that the maximum number of homes can be retrofitted within the available budget.
The average cost recouped to local authorities per property for each of the years 2021 to 2024 is outlined in the table below.
Year | EERP | MRP |
---|---|---|
2021 | €19,945 | €24,270 |
2022 | €27,798 | €29,827 |
2023 | €31,188 | €34,638 |
2024 | €34,064 | €31,852 |
