Firstly I wish to make the Deputy aware that later this week my Department will be publishing updated cloud computing advice notes from the Office of the Government CIO and the Office of Government Procurement. The updated notes recognise the developments in the technology, policy and legislative environments as well as some related matters that have emerged over recent years. Taken together, these notes will help public bodies to procure and implement cloud services to support digitalisation thereby providing better public services for all.
Following my own advice, my Department uses appropriate current versions of a range of enterprise cloud services across Infrastructure, Platform and Software as a Service as well as security solutions from providers such as Microsoft, AWS, ServiceNow and OpenText. In addition, in line with my Department’s ICT Acceptable Usage and Internet Content Access policies, my Department provides access to on-line resources to support staff in their roles such as collaboration, workspace visualisation, data visualisation, design, task management, messaging, recruitment management and audience interaction tools.
