Further to my response to Parliamentary Question No. 415 of 13 May 2025, I can inform that the examination in question started when the allegations of contravention of Irish law were first made.

The examination has included verification that the alleged flights passed through sovereign Irish airspace and engagement with the air operators concerned, requesting documentation from a number of sources including the air operators concerned and Government Departments in Belgium and a detailed examination and cross examination of the information and documentation received as a result of these requests.

Work is continuing but I am not in a position to provide a definitive timeframe for its completion. My Department is making every effort to complete its examination in as timely a manner as is possible.
