I am advised that Garda management keeps the distribution of resources under continual review to ensure their optimum use in light of identified operational needs and emerging crime trends.

I am advised by the Garda authorities that the requested data cannot be released for security reasons. I am assured that there are currently sufficient resources available to the Armed Support Unit.

General information on Garda members assigned to any station are publicly available at the following link: www.gov.ie/en/department-of-justice/publications/garda-workforce/.

The Deputy can access the file titled “Garda Members by Division District Station 2009 to 28 February 2025” for a breakdown of total Garda numbers going back to 2009.
