2107. To ask the Minister for Health if she will explore a cross-Border paediatric pathology service, given that a service exists in Dundalk but those in the North need to utilise a service in Liverpool; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [19292/25]

My Department is working with partners in Northern Ireland to improve cooperation in health and social care where there are clear benefits for both jurisdictions and for patients across the island. This includes the potential for developing perinatal and paediatric pathology services capable of serving both jurisdictions.

Perinatal and paediatric pathology services are a challenging and complex area, and one which is currently facing recruitment challenges on a global scale.

The HSE has been asked to work on a collaborative all-island approach to the design of perinatal and paediatric pathology services capable of serving both jurisdictions.
