In response to the Deputy's question, I confirm that during 2024 my Department had the following engagements with the United States Government or State Bodies of the U.S. Government:

  • January: Meeting between my officials and a delegation from the office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR).
  • February: Meeting between my officials and the Agricultural Attaché from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
  • May: Meeting between my officials and the Maryland Secretary for Agriculture.
  • July: As part of a visit to Ireland by a delegation from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), a tour of Shannon Airport Border Control post was arranged for the visiting delegates.
  • September: Meeting between my officials and a delegation from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
As part of my recent mission to the US, I met with Secretary of State Rollins, and a number of influential congressmen on both sides of the aisle to discuss matters relating to agriculture and trade.
