653. To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform can he outline what his new proposed expert taskforce for infrastructure will involve; the key timelines; if any other organisations are being considered for inclusion; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19967/25]

As I announced on 15 April last, I am undertaking a series of actions over the coming months to meet the Programme for Government's objective of accelerating the delivery of critical economic infrastructure.
Part of the work plan will involve the creation of a new Accelerating Infrastructure Taskforce, which I will chair. The taskforce’s membership will comprise a small number of senior leaders with direct experience of infrastructure development, joined by the CEOs of the semi-state bodies most integral to infrastructure development.
The purpose of the taskforce is to oversee and apply practical, real world insight to my Department's work programme on infrastructure acceleration. This will ensure that the evidence, conclusions and recommendations reached in the work programme are accurate, appropriate and well-targeted.
I expect to formally establish the taskforce, including its membership, in May.
