To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if he will detail how many physical letters the Minister’s offices and the customer service team in the Department received from the public in 2024; whether those letters are digitised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The number of emails received in the Minister's Office and to the dedicated customer service email in 2024 are set out in the table under

Any physical letters received by the Minister's Office are scanned and added to the Department's eCorrespondence system for tracking purposes. Once uploaded it is not possible to ascertain which records originated as physical letters.

The Department operates a dedicated customer service mailbox and all customer service queries in 2024 were emailed to that mailbox. It is worth noting that individuals may also contact sections of the Department directly in relation to the various grant schemes the Department operates and any such queries are not logged to customer service mailbox but dealt with directly by the relevant units.
