To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the total funding allocated under each of the programmes funded by his Department for addressing vacancy and dereliction in 2024; the total amount spent under each of these programmes in 2024; and the total number of vacant or derelict units brought back into use through each of these programmes in 2024, in tabular form. Tackling vacancy is a key priority for this Government.
The Vacant Homes Action Plan Progress Report March 2025 outlines the significant progress that has been made in addressing vacancy under Pathway 4 of Housing for All in 2024 along with the planned actions to return vacant properties into use as homes in 2025. The progress report is available on my Department's website at the following link: www.gov.ie/en/publication/df86c-vacant-homes-action-plan-2023-2026/.
Information on the number of properties brought back into use and the amount spent through the various vacancy initiatives in 2024 is detailed in the table attached.
