Rent supplement continues to play a key role in supporting families and individuals in private rented accommodation, with the scheme supporting 7,055 active recipients at the end of December 2024. The provisional expenditure for rent supplement paid by the Department of Social Protection at end of December 2024 was almost €57.4 million.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
