Recruitment to the Department of the Taoiseach is generally conducted through the Public Appointments Service and is governed by the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) Act 2004. All appointments are subject to the successful completion of pre-employment checks, including Garda Vetting.
The National Economic and Social Development Office (NESDO) - the only body under the aegis of the Department of the Taoiseach - carries out its own recruitment and pre-employment checks are applied. Garda Vetting is not required for posts in NESDO.
