I am informed that the person cited by the Deputy submitted an incomplete online naturalisation application to the Citizenship Division of my Department.

On 10 December 2024, this naturalisation application was returned to the applicant with a request to provide all required documentation and the person concerned was given 28 days to provide this documentation. After 18 days a reminder was sent to the applicant again asking for the documentation to be submitted.

The requested documentation was not submitted within the timeline provided, therefore, this application was deemed incomplete and subsequently refused. I am advised that Citizenship Division did receive documentation via hardcopy Post from the person concerned on 23 January 2025, which was outside of the timeframe provided.

It is open to the person concerned to lodge a new application at any point. All the required supporting documentation should be included with any new application.

Citizenship Division have also produced a guidance document for all potential applicants which outlines which documents are required for the application. This document is published on my Department's Irish Immigration website and is available here: www.irishimmigration.ie/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Citizenship-Guidance-Document-April-2024.pdf
