Management of the courts, including matters related to the administration of the courts, is the responsibility of the Courts Service which, under the provisions of the Courts Service Act 1998, is independent in exercising its functions.
I am advised that there was no waiver of the nature suggested by the Deputy during the period 2014 – 2019. The first waiver was introduced in March 2020 (SI 439/2020) with 2 further waivers in 2021 (SI 444/2021 & SI 531/2021) and 2 further waivers again in 2022 (SI 34/2022 & SI 479/2022).
I have had enquiries made with the Courts Service regarding the Deputy's question and have been informed that it would require a considerable about of time to collate the information requested. The Deputy may wish to contact the Courts Service directly with this query, as it relates to several different application types with approximately 70,000 applications over the 3 years.
The Courts Service has a dedicated email address for the provision of information to members of the Houses of the Oireachtas: oireachtasenquiries@courts.ie.
