All primary schools, including special schools, and post-primary schools must report annually on student non-attendance in primary and post-primary schools at an aggregated level. This data is collected by Tusla Education Support Service (TESS). Schools make two returns to TESS, the Annual Attendance Report (AAR) and the School Absence Report (SAR).

This information is available on the Tusla website at: www.tusla.ie/services/educational-welfareservices/publications/research-and-statistics/
