The school to which the Deputy refers was approved to enter the department’s pipeline for a project under the Additional School Accommodation (ASA) Scheme to provide 9 General Classrooms, 2 SET rooms, 2 Science labs, 1 Science Prep area, 1 Art room and 1 Home Economics room. The project has been devolved to the school authority for delivery.

A Stage 2B (pre-tender) report was submitted in Q2 2024. This submission required clarification, and additional information was requested from the school. An addendum stage 2b report was submitted in Q4 2024. The review of this projects stage 2B addendum report is ongoing.

Upon completion of this review process, the Department officials will communicate with the school authority regarding the next steps to advance this significant project.

At this early stage, it is not possible to predict when a significant school building project of this nature will go to construction, nor when it will be completed, as progress depends upon many contingent factors that can arise.

My department will continue to engage with the school authority to provide practical advice and assistance on this much needed project.
