My Department is fully committed to supporting children with special educational needs to fulfil their full potential. This includes ensuring that sufficient special education placements remain available for children with special educational needs.

The school referred to by the Deputy is part of the Pilot Schools Public Private Partnership (PPP) Bundle. This contract is being delivered through the PPP process by the relevant PPP Company.

The tendering and contractual appointment process is now due to get underway. It is expected that the PPP Company will issue a request for tender to five construction companies by the end of Q1 2025. The PPP Company’s plan remains that the facility will be ready for the school’s September 2026 intake.
