To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the reason a person (details supplied) is being pursued for overpayment of half-rate of pay and for overpayment of the temporary rehabilitation payment when none of the fault for the overpayments lies with the member of staff and all the blame for these overpayments arises from a “delay in processing” and internal failures by her Department to update its own systems. Rules around the recoupment of overpayments is decided centrally by the Department of Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform.
