To ask the Taoiseach for a digital copy of the Ministerial briefing document provided by his Department on taking office, along with copies of Ministerial briefs provided to Ministers of State of his Department; and to outline the duties he intends to delegate by statutory instrument to his Minister of State. Since taking up office as Taoiseach, I have had a number of meetings with the senior officials in the Department of the Taoiseach dealing with a range of policy issues.
The Ministers of State attached to the Department of the Taoiseach were briefed in a similar manner.
The Government Chief Whip and Minister of State attending cabinet with responsibility for Mental Health receives delegated functions in respect of the Statistics Act 1993 (No. 21 of 1993) and the Civil Service Regulation Acts 1956 to 2005 and the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) Act 2004 (No. 33 of 2004), in so far as those Acts relate to the Central Statistics Office.
The Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Defence with special responsibility for European Affairs and Defence has had no formal functions delegated to him.
Delegated function Orders will be laid before the Houses in due course.
