I can advise the Deputy, in June 2024, the Council of the European Union adopted the decision to extend the Temporary Protection Directive until March 2026. This was an important demonstration of continued solidarity and support for Ukraine at a time when innocent civilians continue to be displaced as a direct result of ongoing Russian aggression.

The tables below detail the number of persons who have presented to my Department seeking Temporary Protection for each month of 2024 and 2025 to 18 February 2025:

Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection hold temporary permission to remain in Ireland, this permission is renewable on an annual basis, as long as the Directive remains in force.

Any Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection that wishes to avail of permission up to 4 March 2026 must now apply to renew their permission online. Further information regarding this renewal process is available on my Department's website at the following link:
