509. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government if he is aware that Uisce Éireann has reduced its funding to local authorities for 2025; and if so, the amount of reduction by local authority, in tabular form. [7406/25]

The Government’s Policy Paper on Water Sector Transformation sets the vision for water services based on the full integration of water services into Uisce Éireann as the national water services authority.

The transition of public water services from local authorities to Uisce Éireann is due to be completed by the end of 2026. The costs to local authorities for providing water services is diminishing as the corresponding activities for providing these services transfers to Uisce Éireann.

The information sought in relation to funding Uisce Éireann has provided or intends to provide to individual local authorities in 2025 is not available in my Department. Any shortfall in local authority water services funding related to previous years, as a result of the water transformation programme, is addressed in a memorandum of understanding agreed between my Department and the County and City Management Association.
