In response to the Global Ireland 2025 Strategy, and in keeping with my Department’s own goal to develop market opportunities abroad as outlined under the Food Vision 2030 strategy, my Department has expanded its staffing in international locations in recent years.
In addition to established posts in locations such as Brussels, London, Paris, Geneva, Washington DC and Beijing, additional posts have been added in Berlin, Mexico City, Tokyo and Seoul.
There are currently no plans to establish an agricultural attaché post in Canberra. There is a strong Team Ireland presence headed up by the Irish Ambassador to Australia.
My Department maintains its international presence and activities under constant review, with a view to maximising their contribution to the development of the Irish agri-food sector.
