I wish to advise the Deputy that the salary paid by the Department of Finance to the Secretary General is in line with the relevant salary scale as set out by the Department of Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform which apply across the Civil Service.
The Secretary General’s current salary scale is Secretary General, Level I - €256,469. This has increased with effect from 1st October 2024, in accordance with Circular 14/2024 - Application of 1 October 2024 pay adjustments. This will increase by 2% or €1,000, whichever is greater, on 1 March 2025, according to the Public Service Agreement 2024-2026.
